In a heartwarming incident aboard a Memorial Day flight, I had the privilege of serving as a flight attendant. Little did I know, a touching story awaited me in the front row, where I engaged in conversation with a passenger. This passenger shared with me the tale behind an adorable dog depicted in a photograph – Corporal Kiddy. It turned out that Corporal Kiddy had recently bid farewell to her duty after an illustrious 12-year service alongside the U.S. Marine.

With a surge of emotion, I decided to honor Corporal Kiddy’s dedication over the aircraft’s intercom. The response was overwhelming as the entire cabin erupted into a thunderous round of applause. Witnessing this, Corporal Kiddy, ever the loyal companion, leaped onto the nearest lap, embodying grace and gratitude in her retirement.
